Game Drives & Self Drive Safari
Throughout the journey, you will have opportunity to join guided morning and evening game drives. Additionally, guests can embrace the spirit of adventure with self-drive safari segments through the iconic Etosha and Kruger National Parks. One rest day even offers the chance to take part in a walking safari.

Whale Watching experience
In Hermanus, guests will spend a day discovering why this is one of the world's premier whale-watching destinations, enjoying a boat trip to see these majestic creatures up close.

Swakopmund - Sossusvlei - Windhoek - Etosha - Mokuti Safari Lodge
Our journey begins from Swakopmund, heading south through the ever-changing landscapes of Namibia. By late afternoon, we arrive at our lodge at the edge of the salt pan near Sossusvlei, offering the first glimpse of wildlife beneath the vast African sky. A rest day early on allows time to explore the reserve at leisure.
Leaving Sossusvlei we pass through the Naukluft National Park, created as a sanctuary for the rare Hartmann's mountain zebra. Our next stay is in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia and one of the few sizeable cities on our journey. Here is the perfect opportunity to restock essentials before we head into the wilderness.
Next, we have a fleeting visit to a crocodile farm before heading to the Etosha National Park, where we will stay in luxury lodges close to the Western entrance.
The upcoming part of the drive is more unique, with the chance to self-drive the Etosha Park. There will be an alternative route available for those who do not want to take their own vehicle through the park. With abundant wildlife, you are almost guaranteed sightings, especially around the waterholes. There are cafes, restaurants and fuel stations throughout the park.

Popa Falls - Kasane - Okavango Delta - Kasane - Nata
After Etosha, we travel west towards Botswana, crossing the Caprivi Strip, an area full of wetlands and winding rivers. Another notable highlight is Popa Falls, a series of cascading rapids, home to over 400 species of birds, hippos and crocodiles.
We will cross the border into Botswana and enter the Chobe Game Park, believed to have the highest density of Elephants anywhere in the world.
Early the next morning, flights take us from Kasane to the Okavango Delta just in time for lunch as we prepare for the first evening game drive of the trip. The wildlife is varied and plentiful thanks to the rich ecosystems and protection. Through careful conservation, it has become one of the best places to see wildlife in Africa. The following day offers time to enjoy the camp with more opportunities for game drives.
After a final breakfast at the camp, we return to Kasane via plane to begin the journey to South Africa. Tonight, we stop at the small town of Nata, where we get the opportunity to view the Makgadikgadi salt pan.

Francistown - Mokopane - Sabi Sands
Enroute to Francistown, we will visit ancient African rock paintings, considered to date back to the late stone and early iron age.
The following day we cross into South Africa via the Groblersbrug post on the Limpopo River. As we depart Mokopane to Sabi Sands the drive will feature excellent roads heading through the Wolkberg Wilderness Area followed by a drive overlooking the Blyde river canyon. We will also visit God's Window, one of South Africa's most picturesque viewpoints, with endless vistas and breathtaking views. The final part of the day takes the route through Hazyview before entering another major highlight, Sabi Sands, a place renowned for some of the best Big Five game safaris in the world.
The following rest day will give everyone the chance to enjoy a morning and evening game drive with breakfast in the bush and a sundowner by the Sand River, there is even the chance to take part in a walking safari for those looking for an extra adrenaline rush.

Mbabane - Phinda - Umhlanga
Following a leisurely breakfast, we enjoy our second self-drive adventure through the Kruger (there will be an alternative route available) before joining the main road at the southern edge of the park. The route will cross in Eswatini, formerly Swaziland, at Jeppes Reef before a lovely drive over the wonderfully named Piggs Peak. From there, we travel through the forested valleys into the capital, Mbabane, where we will stay for the night.
We then journey across our final border crossing of the trip before driving through the Pongola Valley to our stop in the Phina Private Game Reserve where we will stay for two nights.
On the rest day here, there is the chance for a different game viewing experience as Phinda is home to seven different ecosystems ranging from palm savannah, mountain bush and sand forest. Morning and evening game drives are available here with time to relax and enjoy the camp.
We finally arrive at the east coast of Africa as we leave Phinda and head towards Durban. Our hotel is on the shores of the Indian Ocean and is a sanctuary of peace in this vibrant area of the country.

Umngazi - Shamwari - Plettenburg Bay
Following a rest day in Umhlanga the route continues to follow the Indian Ocean south towards Port St Johns and the Umngazi River where we stay on the riverside.
The next day's route travels inland via the Transkei area, birthplace of Nelson Mandela, before arriving at the destination of our final game viewing, Shamwari Private Game Reserve. Shamwari, meaning "my friend" in Shona, is the pinnacle of private game reserves. As one of the largest private conservation initiatives in Southern Africa, it is a vast landscape home to the coveted Big Five. The Shamwari Foundation exists to protect wildlife, uplift surrounding communities and educate further generations, contributing to long-term sustainability. Here we have a rest day with a chance to tick off any animals left on your bucket list.
We continue to follow the Indian Ocean coast to Plettenburg Bay. Dinner will be taken overlooking the ocean and you may spot a whale.

Hermanas - Stellenbosch - Cape Town
As we enter the southern part of the Karoo, there are plenty of wonderful passes to enjoy. Having left the coast for the day we return for the evening as we have our final rest day will allow guests the chance to go out on a whale watching trip. Hermanus is one of the leading areas for whale-watching in the world so you will not be disappointed.
No visit to this part of Africa would be complete without a visit to the world-famous wine region of Stellenbosch. Surrounded by the vineyards of the Cape Winelands, the town produces some of the very best wines South Africa has to offer.
As our motoring journey comes to a close, crews enjoy a short drive to Cape Town. The drive into the city takes us past False Bay on the southern side and onto Chapmans Peak overlooking the Atlantic Ocean on your left, truly a memorable way to enter Cape Town and end a once in a lifetime adventure.
